Questions about ordering
Short answers first. If yours isn't here, just send a message.
How far ahead should I order?
At least one week before your date for any order. For weddings and big parties, message as soon as you have your date: popular weekends fill up first.
How do I order? Can I order online?
There is no online checkout. Send us a message through the order form, by text, or on Instagram, and we plan your cake with you and confirm the details.
Do you list prices?
Every cake is made to order, so we quote once we know the size, design and date. Send a message and we will reply with a quote.
What do your cakes taste like? Are they European style?
Yes. Irina bakes with a European taste: lighter and less sugary than a typical American cake, with thin layers, soft creams and fresh fruit instead of heavy, very sweet frosting. Classics like honey cake, Napoleon and Spartak are made the way they are made in Eastern Europe.
How big should my wedding cake be?
Tell us your guest count and whether you will also have a dessert table, and we suggest the size. Many couples order a slightly smaller cake when there is a dessert table too.
What sizes do your cakes come in?
Tall cakes come in 6, 8 and 10 inch, most classic cakes are 10 inch, and bento cakes are a small cake for one or two. Wedding cakes are sized to your guest count.
Can I send a photo of a cake I like?
Yes, please do. Photos help us understand the style you want. We make every design in our own hand, so yours will be inspired by it rather than a copy.
What is a honey cake?
Honey cake, or medovik, is a classic Eastern European layered cake: many thin honey layers with a soft cream that settle together into a tender cake. It is less sweet than most American cakes.
How many desserts do I need for a dessert table?
A common rule of thumb is two or three pieces per guest next to a cake, and more if the table is the only dessert. Tell us the guest count and we help you choose.
Does my venue allow an outside baker?
Policies vary, so ask your venue about its outside-baker policy and any cake-cutting fee before you book, and tell us the venue and set-up time.
Do you deliver?
Pickup is in Spartanburg. Ask us about delivery to your venue when you message, especially for tiered wedding cakes.
Can you handle allergies?
Tell us about any allergy when you message and we will tell you honestly what we can do. Our kitchen uses wheat, eggs, milk and nuts, so we cannot promise an allergen-free cake.
Do you speak Russian?
Yes. You can message us in Russian or English, and this whole site has a Russian version: use the switch at the top.
Have a date in mind?
Tell us about it. We need at least a week, and the sooner you message, the more room we have to make it special.
